SXSW Prediction - Tumblr is this years Twitter

Last year SXSW was Twitter’s coming out party.  It was the tech equivalent of the Beatles playing the Ed Sullivan show for an audience of screaming girls and the rest of the country quickly taking notice.  This year you can feel the momentum behind Tumblr.  Granted Twitter’s instant status messaging capabilities are perfectly designed for a conference setting so the utility of Tumblr will not be as obvious.  In terms of mind-share, however, I believe there are a lot of people who are going to be talking about, posting to and meeting followers of their tumble blogs.  Perfect storm forming?
