The new Remedy Diner on the corner of Houston and Norfolk just opened (I think today) and it is right next to my apt. I am on the second floor facing the street on Norfolk. Norfolk between Stanton and Houston was one of the few remaining livable streets in this area as there were no bars or restaurants. Before moving here I lived on the corner of Rivington and Clinton. It was fun for a little while but living where everyone else goes to party gets old. After moving to Norfolk I felt like a new man. I realized it was from actually being able to sleep through the night without be interrupted by people being loud coming out of the bars. Remedy Diner plans to be open 24/7 to cater to these same people so I now get to look forward to them walking down my street. Oh well, that’s just part of the deal living in Manhattan. My lease is up in April so it will give me a chance to see how bad it is or isn’t.
