Soulsavers - You Will Miss Me When I Burn

Mark Lanegan & Co doing a ridonkulous cover of the old Palace Brothers (Will Oldham) tune.  As good as it gets.

If you knew which of your followers had clout, you could invest more time and energy in personal attention. If we knew where big ideas were starting, that would be neat, and even more useful would be understanding who the key people were in bringing those new ideas to the rest of the world. Back in the old days, we had no idea, so we defaulted to big newspapers, or magazines or the TV networks. But now we know. We just need to surface the data in a way that is useful.

Seth’s Blog: Clout (via hiten)

Rafer sez:
Hence Klout.

(via rafer)

It was a mixture of excitement and confusion this morning as I worked through my feed reader and stumbled on Seth’s post.  How come he was talking about us and why did he spell our name wrong?  Then I realized he wasn’t really talking about us directly but it was still awesome.

This is what Klout is all about.

Awesome. @grellan spies a guy who snuck an Xbox, router, etc. into NY Public Library to play Halo off the free wifi. http://flic.kr/p/6SLkh4

This guy brought a monitor, Xbox, wi-fi router, external HD, earphones with mouthpiece and a controller (disguised under a NY Post, no less). He proceeded to play Quake/Halo/Call of Duty…some nerd fighter game while yelling out instructions to his “teammates”. Took him 20 minutes to set it all up. Took him 2 minutes to get kicked out.

This should unlock some sort of Xbox achievement.  This guy is my hero.

I like moving

Think I just found an apartment in San Francisco today.  I am getting close to being able to check all the most famous US cities off the list.

  • Las Vegas
  • Miami
  • Los Angeles
  • NYC
  • San Francisco

At some point I need to live in Chicago and Boston and I will pretty much have things covered.

After being robbed at gunpoint at a southwest Atlanta gas station, Forrest grabbed his own gun and gave chase. Shots were exchanged, police said.

“Vernon walked up to the guy” he was chasing, said Atlanta Police Detective Lt. Keith Meadows, citing a witness account. “Then, at some point, [Forrest] turned and walked away.”

That’s when the man shot the champion boxer seven or eight times in the back, Meadows said.

Three boxers died in the last 30 days.  I thought Gatti’s wife strangling him was the craziest until I read this.

Downtown LA from my seat on Virgin America.
The last 2 months have basically been a blur where I only seem to cath my breath when sitting on airplanes.

Sad day for boxing. Can’t believe Arturo Gatti is dead.
